Stade 2: A Virtual Haven for Sports Enthusiasts
France Télévisions has ventured into the realm of immersive social spaces, creating a three-dimensional virtual environment accessible via VR, where users, embodied as avatars, can interact with each other and the world around them, engaging in discussions, games, and content sharing.
With the goal of capturing the spirit of excitement and camaraderie inherent in sports communities, the FTV team embarked on their inaugural venture with a thematic focus on "Sport." They aimed to evoke the same emotions and fervor found in real-world sports gatherings, leveraging the power of virtual reality to deliver an immersive experience. Thus, it was only natural for them to choose the iconic Stade 2 and its virtual studio as the focal point for their immersive space, creating a seamless connection between France Télévisions' programming and this innovative new service.
The immersive space was envisioned around the Stade 2 studio, adorned with winter colors amidst mountainous and snow-covered forest surroundings.
The world features three mini-games that anyone can play: the first is a treasure hunt in the forest, where players must find clues to open the cabin door, and if they succeed, they'll discover a nice surprise. The second game is inspired by biathlon, and features downhill skiing and rifle shooting. Pass through the gates as quickly as possible and aim for the highest possible score. Finally, the third game for the brave and thrill-seekers is a bobsleigh race. Be as fast as you can!
